New Music Tuesday: Panda Bear
Very exciting day of new releases. Ohhhh can you feel it? Those people up there can definitely feel it. Obviously the big release on everybody's radar is the much delayed Tomboy
from Panda Bear & TV On The Radio's Nine Types of Light , but don't forget about other cool stuff like LAKE, Joan as Police Woman, Sonny & The Sunsets, Reading Rainbow, Ponytail & Vivian Girls. There is also some cool re-issues from Rilo Kiley and My Morning Jacket if you are into that sort of thing. The full list is after the break...

Vivian Girls "I Heard You Say" Video
So I like this song and the video is kinda creepy and I like that about a video. So if I was going to give the whole experience a rating based on a feeling that feeling would have to be "satisfied"... "Vivian Girls leave overweight/grumpy blogger satisfied" would be the headline if people still read newspapers.

Video: Titus Andronicus & Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls "Sweater Song" Weezer Cover
These are a few of my favorite things. Titus Andronicus, Vivian Girls and Weezer circa 1994. To say I am jealous of the people at this show is an understatement. So to all of you I say "SUCK IT!"

Photos: Vivian Girls at Modified Arts 10/13/2009
Vivian Girls were awesome last night. Check out the New Times review from Becky Bartkowski HERE (They incorrectly credited Mike with that photo...it was me UPDATE: They fixed it, thanks!) Opening bands The Pods and Chandails were also pleasing to my ears. I will have the pictures I took of them up later tonight so check back later.
Bunch more pics of the Vivian Girls after the break and you can check out the whole set on our Flickr page HERE.

Tonight in Phoenix: Vivian Girls at Modified Arts
If you are just sitting down at your computer after a long days work and want to go see some good music being played in a smelly environment then may I suggest the Vivian Girls? They shall be rocking out with no cocks out (not theirs anyway) at Modified Arts sometime around 8pm and the tickets cost somewhere between $8 and $15... I am guessing since it isn't listed anywhere. See you there kids.

mp3: Vivian Girls "When I'm Gone"
In my personal life I have been kinda "anti" Vivian Girls but I am growing to like them I must admit. It's not they are changing or anything it's that I am changing, like a when a man changes into a bear or a dog into a pony, the exact same thing. Even though all of their songs sound pretty much the same (sorry Vivian Girls) I kinda like this new track from their upcoming album. It might be that I just got back from vacation from Hunting Beach (Surf City USA) and I drank in some 60's surf rock nostalgia when I was boogy boarding on my 7 year old daughters Wal Mart boogy board or something...who knows? Not me!Everything Goes Wrong is out Sep 8th via In The Red Records
