OK... I admit that these pictures are not my best work. It's because I made a huge mistake by breaking a huge photography rule that has to do with camera setting and making sure you check them and they are correct. That being said, it was pretty hard to concentrate on ANYTHING due to the shear bad assedness that was going on all around me! Smoke, lasers, strobe lights to accompany the loudest music I have ever heard/felt in my entire life. It was ridiculous how loud A Place To Bury Strangers are. I for one loved it with a warm glowing heart and a giant grin the whole time. I took earplugs because I knew that it was going to be like this. Some people didn't and they hated it with as much passion as I loved it. It's strange what 250 decibels can do to your appreciation of music.
When I first heard "Dominos" from The Big Pink last year I took to it like a duck to water... same story with "Velvet" but I was kind of disappointed with the rest of the album. Their performance on the other hand was pretty mind blowing. As hard as it is to take pictures in the dark with strobe lights it sure does make for a greatly improved show over The Rhythm Rooms some old lighting. So in closing Rhythm Room... get some smoke machines and lasers, it's for the kids! Check out more pictures after the break. And the whole photo set on our Flickr page HERE
