Tonight In The Valley: Cursive & Alkaline Trio | Astronautalis

I am not sure why Alkaline Trio and Cursive are on tour together. I love Cursive and Alkaline Trio are a good band, and I might be totally off base here but I don't think they have the same target audience. That might just be my own divisive mind talking and I am probably full of poo but I guess I will find out tonight at The Marquee Theatre at 6:30 for $20.

Astronautalis, out of Seattle is playing at The Rhythm Room tickets are only $10 show starts at 8pm.

Cursive Coming to Phoenix (Tempe)

Cursive put out on of my top 20 albums last year and one of the best videos for "Let Me Up" so when I heard they were coming to town to play the Marquee on March 30th I got the gibbly's in my tummy. I guess they are the opening band for the Alkaline Trio, that is pretty weird but whatevs man... whatevs. Not sure when tickets go on sale or anything but they will be avail from Luckyman HERE and it's only $18. VIDEO: CURSIVE "LET ME UP"

I am not sure why all of these other websites are getting these exclusive videos of bands and we are not (other than The Mumlers) but at least Stereogum was nice enough to make Cursive's new video embeddable for us lowly neon colored blogs.

As for the video itself we have implied car explosions, super hot angels and we learn that hell/heaven is very tricky.

Sometimes I feel really bad for the actress Tania Raymonde. First, she has all kinds of bad things happen to her character, Alex, on Lost and now she's being chased through the woods in this video from Cursive. This is the second single off of Cursive's latest awesome album Mama, I'm Swollen which is available now on Saddle Creek.

Cursive | "From The Hips" (MP3)

I have to admit I'm not all to familiar with the band Cursive. But here is what I do know: they have a new album coming out soon called Mama, I'm Swollen and they are offering up the song "From The Hips" as a free download here. From those two things I have concluded that the song "From The Hips" is very very good and the album title Mama, I'm Swollen is in the lead for favorite album title of the year.
