SXSW '09 Preview

So I promised you guys a preview of this years SXSW festival in Austin, TX and here it is. To be totally honest it isn't very good. Trying to go through a list of all of the musical acts playing at this years SXSW festival is just completely overwhelming. Any attempt to try go through a list that big while still working a full time job would have killed me. But a promise is a promise, dammit. So, this will not be nearly as in depth as I would have liked but at least you get some mp3's courtesy of the SXSW website. I promise to do better next year.

New Music Tuesday: Black Lips, Here We Go Magic

While last week was a particularly strong week for new releases this week is another slow one in terms of big name new releases. Of the new releases coming out this week here is what we like. We just posted a video for the song "Short Fuse", the first single off the Black Lips' new album 200 Million Thousand and we can expect to see the band here in April. Also available this week is Here We Go Magic's self titled debut album.

Finally this week is the War Child presents Heroes compilation. This 16 track covers compilation benefits War Child International, a network of independent organizations and that work to provide humanitarian aid t children affected by war. Some good tunes for a good cause.
