If there is one thing I am going to assume about the band Smith Westerns it's that they are certainly probably not a bunch of jerk faces. They might be a bunch of jerk faces I guess, but the sweet sounds of their voices and musical instruments invokes feelings of non-jerkfacedness... to the max.

Smith Westerns On Pitchfork... I Guess

Oh man I am super tired everybody... I was up all night n' such. I am getting really super sick of going through all these goshdang emails about when and where cool bands are going to be playing at SXSW. The place I will not be at, so therefore I just don't give a good dang about it. It's pretty much all the emails we get these days. So here is something to watch that is pretty cool.

We are finally getting into the swing of things... Just like last couple of years some very strong contenders for album of the year are coming out in January. The new albums from The Decemberists and Smith Westerns are excellent but Tennis's Cape Dory is this years Teen Dream, I CAN'T stop listening to it yo!

2011 Phoenix Concert Preview

2010 was a great year for live music in Phoenix. I crossed a bunch of bands of my bucket list (I have never seen that movie) like Gorillaz, Snoop Dogg, Slayer, Wu Tang, The National, Vampire Weekend and saw a ton of other great shows. Here is a fresh new video from the Smith Westerns. It kinda reminds me of going to the mall just this last weekend. Except I was the old fat guy telling these punk kids to stop going "up" the "down" escalator. Someone could get seriously injured doing that. Most likely their punk faces if I ever get a hold of them! Also, who puts honey all over their mic? Trust me, those things are NOT cheap!
