Tennis On Laundro Matinee

I always told myself that when I got a nice DSLR that took good video and an iMac with Final Cut Pro I would invite bands over to make sweet sweet vids in my backyard. Then I got all those things and realized I am just lazy as hell and will probably never ever do that. But really, does the world need another "video sessions" from some music blog anyway? Probably not, but maybe, summer IS coming and we all know how fun it is to play music in 120 degree weather.

Albums Of The Year 2011

So these are not really in any order, in fact you could say they were "OUT OF ORDER!" I found myself listening to an album a lot, then not really listening to it again until I DID listen to it again. Here are the ones I listened to the most, and therefore I guess they are the best of the year, I guess. And again, let me stress that in true non committal Electric Mustache fashion, these are presented not in any specific order, and also with videos instead of album art/mp3s, because video are way way easier.

Photos: Tennis @ The Rhythm Room 2/8/11

Tennis-13

Wowza! Tennis is really good, and I mean like really good as in excellent. If you like/love their album then you had no choice but to like/love the show the put on last night. It sounded almost exactly like the record but with a little more live panache'. And also... Tennis > Best Coast, so there.

I am totally out of practice shooting in the dark cave that is The Rhythm Room but I will be going out to more shows and posting more photos, I promise.

Tennis "Pigeon" Video

What ever happened to bands putting their videos on Youtube and Vimeo? I know that Pitchfork is the choice of a new generation and all but they should really start using HTML5 and drop the flash. As for the actual video, meh, as for the song.? I like it! Pretty sure that Tennis are going to be the breakout band of 2011. Their new album Cape Dory is out next week. How exciting.

UPDATE: Now it's a Vimeo video... rejoice!

2011 Phoenix Concert Preview

2010 was a great year for live music in Phoenix. I crossed a bunch of bands of my bucket list (I have never seen that movie) like Gorillaz, Snoop Dogg, Slayer, Wu Tang, The National, Vampire Weekend and saw a ton of other great shows. But that was as they say, so last year. It's time to look towards the future. Here is a pretty giant list of everything good that has been announced so far. Click on the "date/time " links to get your tickets and please drive safely.

Tennis Does Yours Truly

I am really for Tennis, I am REALLY for frizzy fizzy hairdooz! We love it! Such elitists, they had trouble going back to a "landlocked city" and dealing with people that think sailing is archaic. I guess I understand where they are coming from. I also have trouble dealing with people in a land locked city that think archaeology is archaic. Do you know how hard it is to dig in a graveyard in the dark?

Tennis Video With Some Dude Skateboarding

Here is the new Tennis video that has been making it's way around the internet since yesterday afternoon. You may not read the internet as hard as we do, so you may have not already seen it already.

Why do band's still have to make videos out of found footage when you literally have a better video camera in your iPhone than the ones they used to "tape" The Cosby Show? And that show won an Emmy!
