So these are not really in any order, in fact you could say they were "OUT OF ORDER!" I found myself listening to an album a lot, then not really listening to it again until I DID listen to it again. Here are the ones I listened to the most, and therefore I guess they are the best of the year, I guess. And again, let me stress that in true non committal Electric Mustache fashion, these are presented not in any specific order, and also with videos instead of album art/mp3s, because video are way way easier.

New Music Tuesday... Just Get MOG

Wow... this is just a ridiculous day! So so so many new albums out today I can hardly even stand it. AA Bondy, Blitzen Trapper, Das Racist, The Drums, Girls, Ladytron, Mates of State, Neon Indian, St Vincent, Toro Y Moi, Wild Flag!!! It's like it never ends! In all seriousness you should probably just sign up for MOG and save yourself a shit ton of money... or time if you are going to try and pirate all of these.

1500th Post Mixtapes!!! We Did It!!!

Oh guess what? This is Electric Mustache's 1500th Post! Who would have thought we would or could have made it that far? Not me, especially "cuz they're rapin errbody out here" and everything. But against all odds we have made it to 1500 posts (and counting).

As a gesture intended to say thank's, Mike and I made a couple "mix tapes" with some of our favorite songs going back to the start of the blog. Mike and I put together two pretty solid mixes if you ask me. And you should, because I need validation in my life.

This video is not nearly as interesting as the XXX video Girls previously put out. But I think if you compare any video to a music video of one guy using another guys junk as a microphone nothing would be that interesting. I tried posting this video a few days ago when it came out but I could not find a version that would let me embed the damn thing. But I found one on this small niche video hosting site called Youtube or something like that. Girls Album is shaping up to be in my top 5 of the year. Initially I thought that some the songs were really good and some were just ok...the more I listen to it MOST of the songs are awesome and a couple are just really good. "Laura" is one of the awesome ones. And like my my always said "Videos with partial nudity make songs better...for Jesus".

No, this isn't a cover of Iggy Pop, but it is another great song from San Francisco based Girls. The song "Lust For Life" is featured on the bands debut LP entitled Album, which is set to be released on September 22nd from Matador/True Panther.
