Albums Of The Year 2011

So these are not really in any order, in fact you could say they were "OUT OF ORDER!" I found myself listening to an album a lot, then not really listening to it again until I DID listen to it again. Here are the ones I listened to the most, and therefore I guess they are the best of the year, I guess. And again, let me stress that in true non committal Electric Mustache fashion, these are presented not in any specific order, and also with videos instead of album art/mp3s, because video are way way easier.

New Music Tuesday: Destroyer, Cold War Kids

Today our proverbial fridge is well stocked. So many things to choose from but if there is one this you MUST acquire at all costs is the new Destroyer album Kaputt. The rest of them maybe you should just take a quick stroll down the aisles, there are so many things to see, but mostly hear... so many things to hear.

Video: Destroyer - "Kaputt"

When it comes to this songs subject matter I admit that I'm a bit of a novice. I've been married for sometime now and my chasing girls phase is long dead and buried. Also, I've never tried cocaine before. The idea of snorting some powder up my nose is not very appealing whatsoever. And, from what I read, it just makes you have to take a crap and makes you all hyper and jittery. I drink a lot of Monster energy drink already so it's not like I need any help in that department. But I suppose if I were to be "chasing girls and chasing cocaine through the backrooms of the world" I'd want to do it while listening to this song. But that's just me.

The new album from Destroyer, which is also titled Kaputt, is going to be out 01/25 from Merge and is probably the album I'm looking forward to the most this month.
