If you had one wish and that one wish was restricted to just picking a new dad, I might consider picking Jeff Tweedy. But in the end I would probably go with Warren Buffet or someone equally as rich, then just pay Jeff Tweedy to hang out with me and tell me jokes. I will ask him next month (when Wilco plays in Tempe) how much he is going to charge me per hour, so as soon as I get that wish I am good to go.

The reason I bring this up is because this video was made my Jeff Tweedy's son Spencer I think is his name. Oh and I will probably also buy new robot hands too. Not sure if they are new hands for my robot or robot hand to replace my own person human hands. We will just have to see. I just want to be able to update Facebook with "Buying new robot hands".

Albums Of The Year 2011

So these are not really in any order, in fact you could say they were "OUT OF ORDER!" I found myself listening to an album a lot, then not really listening to it again until I DID listen to it again. Here are the ones I listened to the most, and therefore I guess they are the best of the year, I guess. And again, let me stress that in true non committal Electric Mustache fashion, these are presented not in any specific order, and also with videos instead of album art/mp3s, because video are way way easier.

New Music Tuesday: Wilco, Twin Sister, Youth Lagoon, Nirvana

Despite the fact the P4K gave Wilco's new album a pretty crappy score it's still my front runner for album of the year. To be honest since A Ghost is Born P4K has given ALL the Wilco albums terrible scores. I don't get HOW people can't LOVE Sky Blue Sky? It's such a great album for the love of lamp! There are a few other choice releases today as well. How about Dominant Legs, Dum Dum Girls, Mastadon, Spank Rock, We Were Promised Jet Packs (just a single though), Twin Sister and don't forget the 20th anniversary of Nevermind stuff either!?!?!?! That is a hella solid list right there... and there are soooo many more to check out belowz!

I really hate it when I miss important things and have to post them a day late and several dollars short. I have been listening to The Whole Love on repeat for the last couple of days and I think it's wonderful. Can't wait to get the LP!

The Northstar Session "You Come Up Like a Rose"

 I really like this song. Probably because it reminds me Wilco a bunch (or little, not sure yet). Specifically "Side With Seeds". And that is one of my favorite songs of all time, so well played The Northstar Session... well played indeed.

I know this is a couple of days late but guess what? I don't read the internet on the weekends. I am too busy building my dungeon and assorted accessories that go along with a dungeon. So that means I will even from time to time miss out on VERY IMPORTANT WILCO NEWS! But for me ALL WILCO NEWS is very important WILCO NEWS! So it looks like I am going to have to run some internet cable down there after all. Should make the webcasts more exciting for EVERYBODY knowing they are live.

Not entirely sure that I like this song though. I am sure it will grow on me though... The B Side is better I think.

1500th Post Mixtapes!!! We Did It!!!

Oh guess what? This is Electric Mustache's 1500th Post! Who would have thought we would or could have made it that far? Not me, especially "cuz they're rapin errbody out here" and everything. But against all odds we have made it to 1500 posts (and counting).

As a gesture intended to say thank's, Mike and I made a couple "mix tapes" with some of our favorite songs going back to the start of the blog. Mike and I put together two pretty solid mixes if you ask me. And you should, because I need validation in my life.

Everybody in the world has already posted this but Wilco is my favorite band so if I don't then I will feel dirty. Well dirtier than I already feel, and that is VERY dirty.

There is an interesting story (I assume) on La Blogotheque that you can read after running it through a translator, or if you took several years of French (like I did).

Wilco Offering Two Free Show Downloads In Support For Haiti

Wilco posted two shows for for free download on their website and ask that in exchange for the free music you donate at least $15 to support relief efforts in Haiti.  Sounds pretty reasonable to me.  You can find more info at Wilco's website here.

Videos: Jeff Tweedy @ The Orpheum 12/27/09

Seeing Jeff Tweedy anywhere (Denny's, rehab, Denny's) is amazing but seeing Jeff Tweedy at the Orpheum Theater solo is fucking amazing. Unfortunately I was too far away to get any good pictures so I had to settle for secretly "flipcaming" 12 songs instead. Everything is from pretty far away so watching is not really recommended but the audio is pretty darn good so if you want to pretend you were there but way in the back and that you have Parkinson's, your post christmas dreams have come true. Jeff Tweedy to Play Phoenix This December

The last time Jeff Tweedy performed in Arizona, it was in Tucson and I missed it due to the fact my daughter had just been born.  I was bummed to be missing one of my favorite bands (Girzzly Bear opened for them also!) but what could I do?  Fortunately for me, Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy will be bringing his solo show to the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix this December.  Not quite as good as getting the whole band but I will definitely take it.  Tickets for the show will go on sale Wednesday, November 25th.  For more info on the show check out Stateside Presents website.

Beck, Wilco, Feist and your mom got together to cover Skip Spence’s “Little Hands”. Up until RIGHT NOW I had no idea who the hell Skip Spence is/was but he was apparently in Jefferson Airplane and did lots of drugs and now he is dead (since 1999). Enjoy the song boners!
