Sleigh Bells "End of the Line"

As much as I liked, and still like Sleigh Bells first album I didn't really care for their latest. It's not that I hated it, that would be giving it to much credit. I just forgot about it, WHILE I was listening to it. I realize this "review" is a little late but their new video reminded me (since I had forgotten completely) of how forgettable the whole thing was. It's like when you put a load of the towels in the washer then forget about them for a week. They come out "clean" but they smell like mildew... forever.

This is my favorite track from Treats... so I am pleased to see a video... even if it is from MTV. Maybe when this shows up on Vimeo I will replace this nonsense. Also that seems like a really bad way to get rid of dead bodies. Really good chance of being found and if you have ever watched Bones they can totally figure out you did it.

Oh Coachella 2011! Kings Of Leon? What Up Wit Dat?

Will this finally be the year that I go to Coachella? I really should go. Who knows when I will get the chance to see Kings Of Leon, Big Audio Dynamite, Cage the Elephant or Brandon Flowers? This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these amazing bands in the most comfortable and accommodating way possible. How much?

Just kidding, even thought there are a few questionable acts scheduled there are so many more good ones that it doesn't even matter. People should just take several chill pills. I actually really DO want to go to Coachella this year. I went to Mayhem Fest AND the Warped Tour last year, so I can't imagine Coachella being any hotter or any more miserable than those painful feats of endurance were. I am a trooper dammit! I can handle it.

Just in time for the big Clubhouse show tonight this pretty solid remix of Tell'em has hit the internet. So I figured I would post it. Then I posted it. I DID listen to it first though. That is how I knew it was pretty solid. Not better than the original or anything but a nice change of pace when you have listened to the original about a brazillion times.

OHHHHHH SHIT! The next two days are "containers" of hours that hold minutes. There are going to be a couple string of THOSE minutes that are the best minutes...

My number one and two albums of the year so far are Sleigh Bells' Treats and The National's High Violet. Some people might think that is weird but those people can suck it. Sleigh Bells are playing tonight at the Clubhouse and The National are playing tomorrow night at Marquee Theatre. That is pretty great stuff right? You know that's right... WHAT?

1500th Post Mixtapes!!! We Did It!!!

Oh guess what? This is Electric Mustache's 1500th Post! Who would have thought we would or could have made it that far? Not me, especially "cuz they're rapin errbody out here" and everything. But against all odds we have made it to 1500 posts (and counting).

As a gesture intended to say thank's, Mike and I made a couple "mix tapes" with some of our favorite songs going back to the start of the blog. Mike and I put together two pretty solid mixes if you ask me. And you should, because I need validation in my life.

Best of 2010... So Far

Not that lists are anything new, and mid year reviews are no exception. But once again we have been meaning to put together a list for few weeks now but we were beaten to it thus forcing our hand to actually make one. I hope you had a good Memorial Day weekend, hope you didn't get to drunk at your wine parties. Hope you went to a wine party (they are the best right?). Certainly some pretty good albums coming out today... such as, you can finally get Treats not from iTunes, so that is pretty cool for people that hate iTunes. Born Ruffians Say It is really good too. I like Elk City's name so I will probably listen to House of Tongues on Mog... assuming it's even on Mog! OK, I just checked, and it totally is on Mog. I heard that Tift Merritt's new album See You On The Moon is the bees knees so I will be checking that out, also on Mog. Just remember that today is about nurnsing your hang over and "going for the gold!", so what are you waiting for? GO FOR IT!

Unfortunately (for you not me) I was super so wrapped up in reading the end of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo that I forgot to post it when I got home. But I am pretty sure you are all used to us being a day late and at least $20 short.

I Am Super Excited For Sleigh Bells

 I have been meaning to write something on Sleigh Bells for awhile now but thought that it would be weird to do right around xmas, because I am lazy around christmas and not because of their name. You may have already heard about them from Stereogum or PFORKS, because they made quite a splash at last years CMJ in their hometown of NYC so that means that they are going to be this years blogbuzzy band with everybody anticipating their album for months to come (and tour that will hopefully come to Phx) and they have out out a couple demos.

I for one think they are great but some people don't like them, the same people that think Micachu is the best thing since boners, so it really makes no sense to me but oh well. I still love that time I was in my car and Infinity Guitars (listen below) came on and I was all like "OMG it's Sleigh Bells... on the RADIO!" but then I realized I was listing to Sirius and they play that stuff all the time.
