Surfer Blood "Demon Dance"

Will Surfer Blood's new album be as good as their last/first album? Will a taco taste as good on a day other than a Tuesday? Will the pain in my left elbow ever go away? Will paleontologists ever realize the squandered marketing potential of NOT changing the spelling of pterodactyl to TERRORdactyl? I mean they are giant flying dinosaurs for heck sake!

I fear that only one of these very important questions will be answered when Pythons is released, sometime in the near future.

Surfer Blood! Live N' Stuff

Watch the full video at Baeblemusic.com

I am a pretty big fan of Surfer Blood. They are going to rank pretty high on my end of year list that will be out very soon. I wish I could go back to high school and start a sweet band. Ahhh the regrets of an old bearded man.

Surfer Blood & The Drums Coming To The Clubhouse On Sept 27th

This isn't SUPER new since Stateside already announced it yesterday but it's still really awesome. Surfer Blood and The Drums have seen fit to play the small hamlet of Tempe right before the Fall Harvest on Sept 27th.

The fall/winter season was already going to be awesome for music in Phx but new announcements keep rolling out everyday. Even though this might not bring us up Tucson levels of awesome, our scrappy upstart of a city is doing it's best ;-)

Best of 2010... So Far

Not that lists are anything new, and mid year reviews are no exception. But once again we have been meaning to put together a list for few weeks now but we were beaten to it thus forcing our hand to actually make one. So here is MY list of MY favorite albums of the year so far. Check back tomorrow for Mike's. It will have a couple cross overs but maybe not. Especially not Sleigh Bells I can assure you of that.

Top 10 of 2010... So Far... after the break...

Video: Surfer Blood "Swim" "Catholic Pagans" "Floating Vibes"

Look what I got for you guys! Three videos from the best new band of the last 6 months Surfer Blood. I guess I kind of just stole them from P4K but fuck them, they are running a racket over there where they blackmail bands for exclusive first run content. And plus they are really popular so really just.... fucka them!

Video: Surfer Blood "Swim"

ElectricMustache is in danger of becoming a Surfer Blood "fanzine" if I don't watch it... Ahhh I don't care... I post'em as I see'em. Um... I gotta go find me a pair of those "tighty whities" BRB!

Surfer Blood Coming To Phoenix (Trunk Space)

This is very exciting news day for me. First I learn that YACHT and Washed Out are coming to town, together no less... THEN I learn that my hands down favorite of the year so far Surfer Blood are coming back to town on March 24th... Wha wha wha Wait a minute! That's the same day as YACHT and Washed Out!!!! ARRRRRRRGH!!!! What the hell am I going to do now? I guess I have a little under 2 months to perfect cloning. I bet I will get all carried away just like Michael Keaton in Multiplicity... January's 5 Best Albums

This is a new thing I think I am going to do every month, my top 5 albums or so. But only from the month that we are in at any given time. Since this is January I guess this is a "best of the year" list as well. But that is just stupid and you are better than that. I have to admit I have not had a whole lot of time to listen to a whole lot of stuff. But the one album I seam to gravitate towards whenever I have a chance to listen is Astro Coast I can't seam to stop listening. It's just that freaking good. When I can pry myself away I either listen to Teen Dream or Transference. It's pretty amazing that we are just wrapping up January and there is already this much great stuff. I have high hopes for 2k10. See list after break...
