So that means I am writing this for the people that didn't know The National were playing because they have never heard of them before. So just be cool and watch the above video. Done? Ok cool. New Music Tuesday: The Roots, HEALTH, The Chemical Brothers

If you look at the list I made you will see that there is a lot of good stuff coming out today, Like HEALTH, The Roots and The Chemical Brothers. You will also see that those douche bags in Stars or STARS or S.T.A.R.S. have a new album out. Don't buy that shit. Fuck them. Fuck them right in their Canadian faces (I have nothing against Canadians but they are Canadian so it makes for easy insult writing. Similar to when people call me a "Fat fucking piece of shit".)  I hope they read this and write a nasty letter to my boss or something. I am sure he will reprimand me accordingly for the swears.

Best of 2010...So Far (Part 2)

If there is two things that I love in this world it is rock music and lists. So when Shawn suggested we put together a list of our favorite albums of the year so far, I said what the heck. This year has seen some really great releases, some of which did not make it on the list and to be honest figuring out which ones to be on the list was a little tricky. Except for the top 3, which are hands down my favorite releases of the year so far. Unless something comes along and really blows me away in the second half of this year I don't really see that changing but we'll see.

One of my favorite tracks off of Owen Pallett's recently released Heartland gets a video. The video for "Lewis Takes His Shirt Off" is kind of what I'd expect a video from Owen Pallett to look like. I'm sure there is some deep meaning behind all the seemingly random imagery, but fuck if I know what it is. Orange Crush FTW!

January's 5 Best Albums

This is a new thing I think I am going to do every month, my top 5 albums or so. But only from the month that we are in at any given time. Since this is January I guess this is a "best of the year" list as well. But that is just stupid and you are better than that. I have to admit I have not had a whole lot of time to listen to a whole lot of stuff. But the one album I seam to gravitate towards whenever I have a chance to listen is Astro Coast I can't seam to stop listening. It's just that freaking good. When I can pry myself away I either listen to Teen Dream or Transference. It's pretty amazing that we are just wrapping up January and there is already this much great stuff. I have high hopes for 2k10. See list after break...

Stream Owen Pallett's New Album Heartland

If you remember all the way back to yesterday's post about new music coming out I said that I heard good things about Owen Pallett's new album Heartland and that I was going to listen to it later on in the day. Well I did and it's goddamn awesome! New Music Tuesday: Vampire Weekend, Ringo Starr, Owen Pallett

So FINALLY the holiday drought is over and we are getting some new shit. Contra came out yesterday digitally, but it's out on old fashioned CD today so you can play it in you 2005 Ford Explorer that inexplicably doesn't have an aux in port. I hear that the Owen Pallett is pretty good so I will probably download that in the next 3-7 hours.
