The Tallest Man On Earth "Weather of a Killing Kind,"

Nothing better than something that is free AND good. Even if it does come from those godless heathens at Adult Swim. Have you seen any of their shows? They don't even make sense! And all the crude language! I can't believe that wholesome Swede Kristian Matsson would even have anything to do with them. They probably tricked him into thinking he was agreeing to song for The Closer*. That show has values!

*TNT and Cartoon Network are both owned by Turner. If you didn't know that then you would not have gotten the joke.

New Music Tuesday: Cee Lo Green, Kid Cudi, The Tallest Man on Earth

What can words tell you about music? Nothing! So just listen to it dummy... why didn't you think of that? Happy Fall!

Video: The Tallest Man On Earth - "Love Is All"

If you haven't already you should pick up the latest album from The Tallest Man On Earth, entitled The Wild Hunt. It really is one of the best albums of the year. Don't believe me? Check out this video for the song "Love Is All."

MP3: Megafaun "Carolina Days"

Megafaun 9-29-09_ (392)

One of our favorite's Megafaun has a new "mini album" coming out next week called Heretofore and "Carolina Days" is the first "single" I guess you could call it.

Megafaun -
"Carolina Days"

Here is a bonus live video of Megafaun and Tallest Man on Earth covering "Everything is Free Now" by Gillian Welch. Have a great weekend. Don't be safe and take a lot of chances. You only live once and it's really really hard ;-)

Best of 2010...So Far (Part 2)

If there is two things that I love in this world it is rock music and lists. So when Shawn suggested we put together a list of our favorite albums of the year so far, I said what the heck. This year has seen some really great releases, some of which did not make it on the list and to be honest figuring out which ones to be on the list was a little tricky. Except for the top 3, which are hands down my favorite releases of the year so far. Unless something comes along and really blows me away in the second half of this year I don't really see that changing but we'll see.
You can see the full list after the break. Enjoy!

Tonight In The Valley: Tallest Man On Earth, Nurses | Dosh, White Hinderland

I am pretty excited for tonights Tallest Man on Earth/Nurses show tonight at The Rhythm Room, but if you are looking for something maybe a little more upbeat then The Sail Inn is your Huckelberry, with Dosh and White Hinderland. Check out some videos after the break to help you in this monumental decision making process. Enjoy yourself tonight because this is one of the last good shows until The Besnard Lakes on the 14th (aside from Fucked Up Thursday)

New Music Tuesday: The Tallest Man on Earth, MGMT, All Leather, Dosh, Nels Cline

Golly gee wiz this week is bound to stir up some controversy in the land of people who hate or love or the much larger group, are completely indifferent to the new MGMT album Congratulations. I for one am on team "Really Like It A Lot But Not Necessarily LOVE or Anything Like That". I will tell you what I DO love... The Wild Hunt from The Tallest Man on Earth.

Check out the rest of the list after the break...

Video: Nurses "So Sweet"

This whole Chatroulette thing is getting out of hand. It just seams like "the easy way out" of music video making. If you want to have a bunch of man dong in your video whip out your own like a man. I guess that's what you get from a band called Nurses right? Just kidding I love Nurses and I am very excited to see them with The Tallest Man on Earth at The Rhythm Room May 4th

Video: Megafaun + The Tallest Man on Earth + Jaw Lesson "Creature Fear" (Bon Iver Cover)

At a recent music festival in the Netherlands 'Stache favorites Megafaun and The Tallest Man on Earth teamed up with Jaw Lesson to perform a cover of Bon Iver's song "Creature Fear." The whole thing was, thankfully, captured on YouTube.

"Creature Fear" is one of my favorite songs off of Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago and I love the fact that former Justin Vernon band mates and tour mates Megafaun do a cover of the song.

I'm also loving the irony of the fact that everyone else is taller than Kristian Matsson aka The Tallest Man on Earth.

Both Megafaun and Tallest Man on Earth have gigs scheduled around town here shortly. Tallest Man on Earth will be at the Rhythm Room on May 4th and Megafaun play Sail Inn on April 23rd. For more info on both shows check out Stateside Presents website here.

The Tallest Man on Earth Coming to Phoenix

Kristian Matsson aka The Tallest Man on Earth has a new album coming out pretty soon (4/18 in fact) and people that have albums coming out go on tour. Fortunately for Phoenix we are one of the places on this tour. And even better, so far it's not on the same night as anybody else. Mark your calendars for May 4th at The Rhythm Room... tickets go on sale Friday (2/12)

mp3: The Tallest Man on Earth "King of Spain"

The Tallest Man on earth is definitely a liar but I still really like his music. You see I am a tolerant person. You can totally mess with me a whole lot as long as you make up for it with some sort of talent. Another example of this is the time that my friend Roberto stole my car, lit it on fire and drove it into a lake, but he was/is the best masseuse of feet I have ever met, so I didn't make a big deal out of the whole car thing.

The Tallest Man on Earth just signed to Dead Oceans and announced a new album called The Wild Hunt out April 12th. You can listen and download the first single "King of Spain" below.
