Video: Harlem "Someday Soon"

The band with the biggest kick drum I have ever seen made a video for "Someday Soon". Why are Harlem so damn catchy? It's causing some major problems for me. I try to listen to a lot of different music but whenever I hear a Harlem song somewhere (on Sirius or some blog) I end up listening to Hippies and Free Drugs ;-) for a week straight. See, problems, plural.

Oh and I don't know how I missed this but Gay Human Bones video is also awesome so here is a bonus vid and I am sorry for my negligence.

Best of 2010... So Far

Not that lists are anything new, and mid year reviews are no exception. But once again we have been meaning to put together a list for few weeks now but we were beaten to it thus forcing our hand to actually make one. So here is MY list of MY favorite albums of the year so far. Check back tomorrow for Mike's. It will have a couple cross overs but maybe not. Especially not Sleigh Bells I can assure you of that.

mp3: Harlem "Gay Human Bones"

I don't know what basketball has to do with bones let alone gay human ones... I wish I would have heard this album before they played here last month because I would have asked them. But shit this song is the tops man. It's from Hippies that drops on April 6th.

Tonight In Phoenix: Harlem, Chandails, The Pods @ The Trunk Space

If you enjoy good/maybe excellent bands named after places they are not from and possibly had never even been too at the time of their naming but probably HAD been since people travel all over the country and even the world too it's definitely within reason to assume that one of them had at least been to this place at least once.

If you guessed that I was talking about Harlem, that moved from Nashville TN to Tucson AZ to Austin TX then you are the big winner, of joining me (at your own expense of course) at The Trunk Space tonight to watch Harlem play songs from their catalog of songs they wrote and learned how to play as a band together. I am very much excited to see this show because I find Harlem pleasing to my ears, couple that with the fact that I have recently (last night) gotten over my mild dislike of The Trunk Space and it's a recipe for fun and excitement.

They have a new album coming out in April called Hippies that has been compiling a lot of blog buzz over the last couple of month so we will probably be seeing them before they blow up huger than Mike's prostate.
