Jay Z & Kanye West "No Church In The Wild"
Didn't get a chance to post this yesterday because I was on the run from the mob AND the police... but the evidence framing a congressman was successfully planted thus freeing me up for more important things like posting videos.

N*ggas In Paris At Midnight
This is slightly funnier if you have seen the movie, but it might actually be even better if you haven't. Since I HAVE seen it I will never know. If only I had a time traveling car from the future.

New Music Tuesday: Kanye, Girls, Florence + The Machine

Not a whole lot of new stuff today but what is out is pretty great. I will be the first to admit that Kanye West is a complete lunatic, but most geniuses are totally nuts. The new Girls EP is also pretty great, so you should get that. Check out the rest of the list after the break...

Video: Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys - "Empire State of Mind"
Here is the video for my favorite song from Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3, "Empire State of Mind" featuring Alicia Keys. Alicia Key's chorus on this track is flawless and makes me want to hop on a plane and spend a week in NYC.

Video: Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys - "Empire State of Mind" (Live @ 2009 MTV VMAs)
I don't remember when exactly I swore off the awfulness that is the MTV Video Music Awards but it's been a few years. Of course, every year I decide that I'll give it another chance and without fail I'm reminded why I hate MTV. Last night was no exception. The pre-show where the endlessly hyped the fact that they were showing a brand new trailer for New Moon was excruciating, Russel Brand was awful, and Lady Gaga just looked ridiculous.
Admittedly, there is usually at least one good live performance that manages to come out of that hot mess of a show. This year, as I figured it would be, was Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performing "Empire State of Mind" off of Jay-Z's Blueprint 3. I'm totally digging this album, and this track is my hands down favorite. Alicia Keys chorus on this song is flawless and makes me want to immediately book a ticket to NYC.
Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 is available now on Jay's label Rocnation.

Jay-Z Performs At Neighborhood Ball
Frack, has it been a slow news day. Well, in case you missed the coverage of all of the various balls that took place last night in D.C. here is a video of Jay-Z performing "History". I like the song, but the tuxedo and glasses need to go.

City of God's Son
I don't know about you but I'd really like to see that movie. Too bad it isn't real. Instead the above video is a preview of Kenzo Digital's concept album City of God's Son. This ambitious project takes samples from hip-hop legends including Jay-Z, Nas, and Ghostface and combines them with original audio and dialogue from various films. The result is a an audio only movie. I can only imagine the hard work that went into this type of project, but I'm glad someone went through the trouble. The album is pretty awesome. And free, you can download part 1 here.
