New Music Tuesday: Welcome To 2012 Edition

Oh hey... what up? Did you all have a wonderful winter season break? Mine was good but not all that relaxing. House hunting can be a real pain in the ass. Probably not as hard as real hunting, especially if you are using spears and success was your only chance of survival. But for a fat lazy American like me house hunting is hard.

Can't wait to get that new Lego Feet! Just so you know, the Pearl Jam doc is on Netflix to stream, just so you know. Oh and FINALLY the Johnny Cash greatest hits album we have all been waiting for!

New Music Tuesday: Toro Y Moi, Josh Ritter, The Cave Singers, Nirvana

Even though that picture of Slash and his guitar I took a couple weeks ago has nothing to do with any of the new albums coming out this week I felt it appropriate as it conveys how awesome this weeks new releases are. Why so awesome? Glad you asked... two words, the Monkees! Just kidding, they were not that good. Just kidding they were pretty awesome. Especially for a sorta fake band that was cast, as actors... for a TV show, they were excellent. Daydream Believer, Last Train to Clarksville... so good.

Today's most excellent release is Toro Y Moi's Underneath The Pine. I have been hearing for a couple of weeks now and I love it. Also The Cave Singers No Witch should be on your must have list, if you have one of those. If not I suggest you make one. And stick to it.

New Music Tuesday: Joanna Newsom, Xiu Xiu, Shearwater, Phantogram & Past Lives

Damn fine day to be a person that enjoys new music. Corncopia of albums I doubt you even have enough money to buy they all. I am not saying you are poor, just frugal. If you were only able to buy like 3 or 4 (because of alleged money problems) I would recommend Joanna Newsom's TRIPLE album Have One On Me, Xiu Xiu's Dear God, I Hate Myself, Shearwater's The Golden Archipelago, and Phantogram's Eyelid Movies. Now you are obviously an adult or at least a savvy enough child to be reading such a high class music blog so by all means click on some of the other albums below (after break) and check their sounds out on Amazons thoughtfully provided 30 second clips, and make some decisions for yourself for once in your life.
