New Music Tuesday: Welcome To 2012 Edition

Oh hey... what up? Did you all have a wonderful winter season break? Mine was good but not all that relaxing. House hunting can be a real pain in the ass. Probably not as hard as real hunting, especially if you are using spears and success was your only chance of survival. But for a fat lazy American like me house hunting is hard.

Can't wait to get that new Lego Feet! Just so you know, the Pearl Jam doc is on Netflix to stream, just so you know. Oh and FINALLY the Johnny Cash greatest hits album we have all been waiting for!

New Music Tuesday: Andrew Jackson Jihad, Megafaun, Nurses, TEETH, Sic Alps, Pearl Jam

This week may not be the powerhouse release of the season like last week. But you can't have those twice in the same season... it's just math. All that being said, there is a lot of great stuff out today. For example, local heroes Andrew Jackson Jihad have an album about knife men out so that is pretty cool. In addition to that wonderful (probably) album , as you can see below, there are a ton of other good ones too.  Just take your time and look at all of them... with your ears. Then I want you to live free or die hard trying...

STREAM PEARL JAMS BACKSPACER

I have been a huge fan of Pearl Jam since Mother Love Bone (click and you will see if you don't already know) and aside from a couple mid career "not so good" albums I think they really "came back" with Pearl Jam in 2006 and so far Backspacer (6 songs in) is sounding just as good. Stream the whole album below and pick it up at Target (fucking weird right?) this Sunday. Let us know what you think in the comments please...for your own good.

IT'S OVER NOW..YOU CAN BUY THE ALBUM N' STUFF SO NO MORE FREEBIES I GUESS

Pearl Jam New Album Release Date Set

I accidentally typed in "pear jam" when I was look for a good Pearl Jam pick and this came up so I smacked a big blue "L" on there and called it good...because let's face it, as much as I love Pearl Jam, pear jam sounds delicious right? On September 20th of this very year you will be able to stroll into your local Target and purchase Backspacer and it will probably even be on sale. Or not since you can only buy it at target so they won't have any competition but who knows. On second though who the hell buys music at Target anyway?

P.O.S. covers Pearl Jam "No autotune in grunge"

Pearl Jam, the haters of corporate control over anything have obviously teamed up with that new underground basic cable station called MTV or something like that to promote the "Deluxe Reissue" of their debut album Ten, and what better way to do that then have a bunch of people cover your songs? Minneapolis rapper P.O.S. does a pretty bang up job in his version of "Why Go" and he is totally correct when he says there is no autotune in grunge...but that is mostly because Cher had all of the autotuners in the 90's locked up in her dungeon/studio
