New Music Tuesday: Those Darlins, Joan as Police Woman, The Joy Formidable, MEN, Papercuts

It's nice when we can put the worry's of the outside world behind us and just concentrate on important things like what new albums are coming out this week. I am pretty stoked for Those Darlins new album Be Your Bro, mostly because they are cool gals AND their music is good AND I like the word "Bro"... bro. OK... as it turns out it's just a single and the song is called Be Your Bro. Most people would have just re written that whole thing, but I believe in owning up to your mistakes, even if you havn't made them yet.

Those Darlins on Laundro Matinee

One of my favorite bands Those Darlins recorded a few live songs on one of my favorite sites Laundro Matinee... I saw them at Modified last year and they put on one of best shows I saw in '09 and they really captured that same spirit... not really because there isn't anybody there and Patience Hodgson from The Grates isn't dressed up as a chicken. But the video is still cool. It's all about getting fucked up and eating a whole live chicken. As opposed to their other songs that just deal with getting fucked up and doing various other things, like driving. Hardcore man... hardcore.

KING KHAN & BBQ SHOW @ RHYTHM ROOM CANCELED...BOO

According to Statesidepresents.com (the show's promoter) tonight's King Khan & BBQ Show with Those Darlin's has been canceled. This is no surprise after the whole "getting arrested for drugs" episode last week. And their tour manager possibly still being in jail I doubt they wanted to get any further away from Canada by coming to Sherrif Joe's neck of the woods. There is no news of any rescheduling or anything as of yet, but let this be a lesson to other bands...Do ALL of your drugs before you leave each city and make sure your driver doesn't have a suspended license OR knows how to drive the speed limit.

Video: Those Darlins "Red Light Love"

Hey guys...this video from Those Darlins is pretty great. I like cartoons and I like videos made with cartoons and songs that I also like to listen to. This video was animated by Teddy Gage, I have no idea who that is but he is apparently talented so Teddy if you are out there reading this...you are talented.

Coincidentally Those Darlins self titled album came out this week and even more coincidentally they are playing at Modified Arts on Oct 25th.
