Tonight In The Valley: Radar Brothers @ Yucca (So Much Silence 5th BDay) & Steel Train @ The Rhythm Room

Well tonight might be a dilema for some, but not for me! My mind was made up a month ago when Kevin Murphy announced the celebration of his blogs 5th B-Day at Yucca Tap Room starring the Radar Brothers. Do you know how long 5 years is in "blog years"? NO! You don't! You can't know because modern science has not invented the technology, calculator or Excel equation to figure that out yet. But it's soooo many! That I am sure of.
Joining the Radar Brothers are Letdownright & Soft Drink. It's free and it's going to be awesome.
But I guess some people might like Steel Train more than they like blogs. Even though they probably wouldn't even know about Steel Train if it wasn't for blogs. If you are one of those selfish jerks you will probably be headed to The Rhythm Room, to the show, that you heard about... on a blog ;-)

Tonight In The Valley: Database @ Club Sanctum | Dearspeak CD Release @ Yucca
I am not feeling so hot so I probably won't be going anywhere but back to bed but if you don't suck there are a couple pretty great options for your awesome faces...
Database is an electronic band from Brazil, they are playing at Club Sanctum with Jared Alan and Don Ricardo DJing and whatnot till really late I bet.
If you are in a more non electronic mood then a nice free show at Yucca Tap Room for Dearspeak's CD release party is probably a good bet. Fatigo, Tugboat, Antarctica the Beautiful & Chad Sundin are also playing and did I mention it was free?

Tonight In Phoenix: The Morning Benders, Mini T's & The Delta Mirror OR Ten High Tuesday At Yucca
Oh shit this show is going to be huge! I can't even believe there are still tickets available. I would buy them online or get there super early, I doubt this won't sell out. I love hyperbole! But really it IS going to be pretty huge and probably will sell out. I don't think I have been to a Mini T's show that wasn't, add The Morning Benders and The Delta Mirror two of the blogbuzziest bands around and it's a recipe for a good time.
But if this just isn't your bag there IS an alternative... Yucca Tap Room has a pretty great lineup tonight that might float your boat. Mini Mansions, Matthew Reveles, DJ Babynose and Sister Cities, and it's free so that's good, and also Mini Mansions is the band of Queens of the Stoneage bass player Michael "Mikey Shoes" Shuman. If the other thing wasn't going on I would be here for sure.

Tonight in Tempe: What Laura Says @ Yucca Tap Room

If you were to busy playing Cranium with your kids to make it out to the best sounding venue in the Valley last night for the Mini T's farewell show, but have now found yourself hankering for beer and musics. Then What Laura Says might just fill that void in your soul tonight. 8pm at Yucca Tap Room and as always no cover.

Photos: Crystal Antlers & Black Carl @ Yucca (The Vice Party Yo)

If I was the type of person that had regrets in life and I DIDN'T go to this show last night I would be kicking myself in my own self's ass right now. The free drinks were great, Black Carl is only getting better every time I see them and The Crystal Antlers made me 10% more deaf than I was before despite wearing earplugs. I am not a huge "DJ" guy but even Pickster One and Tricky T were making me bob my head a little between sets.
As fate will have it the "official photographer" of the event wasn't able to make it so Steve Chilton aka Psycho Steve, the bro that put this whole thing together with Vice and Hornitos, asked me to fill in and take more than just my usual band shots. So I ventured out into the parking lot n' such and did my own rendition of a lastnightsparty type thing, Tempe style, you can check those pictures out HERE. There are several more pictures after the break but you can check out large groups of pictures of both Black Carl and Crystal Antlers by clicking on their names...just back a few words in this very sentence.

Crystal Antlers & Black Carl Tonight! Don't Forget to RSVP

Crystal Antlers @ The Rhythm Room 6/8/09
Vice Magazine and Hornitos are putting on another shindig tonight at Yucca Tap Room. Crystal Antler and Black Carl are playing. Best of all it's FREE and BESTER of all there is free booze! It's tequilla but it's TOP SHELF TEQUILLA and it's FREE! Have I mentioned that all of this is FREE? Let's sum this all up here...Two great bands, free booze and as previously mentioned it's all gratis. All you have to do is RSVP HERE There is one small catch.... It doesn't start till 10pm so if you have to actually function during the day, tomorrow is going to suck, but it is totally going to be worth it...right?

Crystal Antlers + Vice + Free Booze = ?????
This party is going to be what you make of it. It just like in Kindergarten when you and all the other kids where given the same two paper plates, cup of beans, Popsicle sticks, glitter and glue. At the end of the day some kids were taking home something there parents would be proud of and others had spent the whole day eating paste. Wait a minute...I have totally lost where this analogy is even going. But I think my point had something to do with taking a bunch of stuff that is free, like booze and great bands like Crystal Antlers / Black Carl and doing something your parents will most certainly NOT want hanging on their fridge.
Have I mentioned that this whole thing is free and that the Crystal Antlers put on one of the best live shows in the business? All you need to do is RSVP HERE and then show up tomorrow night (11/4) at Yucca Tap Room around 10pm. If I don't have the swine flu I will see you there.

Photos: Dusty Rhodes and the River Band @ The Yucca Tap Room 5/30

Thanks to Mike's hard work on the street corners of Phoenix we just ordered a new lens for our camera that has auto focus and will thus enable us to take pictures that don't look like close ups of Abe Vigoda's balls, you know blurry.Check out the rest of the blurry photos after the break.
