After a couple of not so good weeks we are getting a pretty solid one this time around. Top of my list if Broken Social Scene's Forgiveness Rock Record and Josh Ritter's So Runs the World Away, but one must not forget Fly Lo's Cosmogramma The Joy Formidable's Balloon Called Moaning or Woods At Echo Lake. You might WANT to forget about The Hold Steady and Minus The Bear though... um, pretty meh as far as I am concerned, and that is why I make the big bucks yall! Hear Two New Songs From Broken Social Scene

I can't even begin to tell you guys how glad I am that SXSW is finally over.  All those tweets from people actually at SXSW this year were filling my heart with incredible envy. Not to mention that there is finally some music news worth talking about.  Like hearing two new songs from Broken Social Scene's forthcoming album Forgiveness Rock Record.  You can stream the songs "Forced To Love" and "All to All" for free or you can buy them.  The third option is to just wait until Forgiveness Rock Record comes out on May 4th and buy all the songs together at the same time.  It's nice to have choices.

I get that bands have to come up with creative and interesting ways to get their fans to actually spend real live Canadian or American dollars but I wonder who in this unstable economy has $125 to spend on a an album? Even a Broken Social Scene album, EVEN if it DOES come with a free BSS fan club membership. I just pre-ordered the $20 2xLP because I am pretty excited for the album and $20 is a reasonable price for two plastic circles, digital download of the album AND a BSS fan club membership. That being said I bet they sell out all 1000 copies in like 2 days. If there is one thing we learned during the Olympics it's never underestimate the Canadians.
