I think I should just go work at MOKB since we pretty much have the same brain. I was also pretty underwhelmed by the whole M.O.F. thingy but I thought "Dear God (Sincerely M.O.F.)" was a pretty smooth song. And now after about 72 blog years they finally got around to making a video for it. Was it worth the wait? I think so.

VIDEO: MONSTERS OF FOLK "SAY PLEASE" ON CONAN

The new album from Monsters of Folk has been getting some mixed reviews in the office here, I have only had the chance to listen to a couple of tracks so far but what I HAVE heard I am giving a "thumbs up". They were on The Tonight Show last night playing "Say Please" and I think that went really well. Getting me even more excited for their upcoming show in Phoenix. I know that NBC isn't doing so hot in the ratings but you would think they could have at least provided M. Ward with a chair...am I right?

NEW MUSIC TUESDAY: MONSTERS OF FOLK, WHY?, VOLCANO CHOIR

Holy crap there is a lot of good shit coming out today. WHY?, The Big Pink and Girls are ALL going to be high on various internet weblogs "best of the year" lists and they are all coming out on the same day! Just crazy man...crazy.

Monsters Of Folk Playing Phoenix October 21st

Something is definitely in the water over at the Stateside Presents offices because they are working over time to put together an unbelievable line up of shows for this fall. Just added to the already impressive list are the Monsters Of Folk. Jim James of My Morning Jacket along with Conor Oberst, M. Ward and musician/producer Mike Mogis make up the group. Tickets go on sale July 31st for the show being held at the Phoenix Orpheum.
