Check Out Matt and Kim Tonight at Marquee Theatre in Tempe

I realize that Harlem Shake videos at this point are just about the worst thing, but Matt and Kim made this one when they were still cool, (and they WERE cool for about a week) and they did it with the help of all the wonderful people that came to their show. YOU could be one of those people, tonight at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe. They probably won't make another Harlem Shake video but who knows what could happen? I might trip and my camera smashes and some glass goes a right into my eye. Or shalphins (shark dolphins) might rain down from the heaven and kill us all. We really just don't know!

Tonight In The Valley: Erykah Badu with Janelle Monae | Grupo Fantasma with Bata Ire

Solid choices tonight folks, I am probably just going to stay at home and sleep off my 3am'er last night (editing pictures not anything fun). I would love to go to either of these shows though... but like I said, probably not going to. But I would like to. Just not going to... probably.

Erykah Badu at The Marquee with Big Boi's protegé Janelle Monae, they are both so hot right now, so so hot. Tickets are pricey at $45 but I think totally worth it. Janelle Monae is poised to be HUGE in the next year, $45 is a pretty good price for "I saw her open for Erykah Badu" bragging rights.

Grupo Fantasma and Bata Ire are a hell of a lot cheaper at $15, plus it's a 21+ show at The Rhythm Room so that means you can take your drinks outside... a rare treat not to be missed (note to Rhythm Room, put a fucking patio on the other side of the building please. Even if it's just a door and a temporary barricade or something, those all ages shows are brutal!)

Tonight In Tempe: Bassnectar at The Marquee

If you want to drink some Red Bull vodka's and or Jager Bombers (or is it just bombs) and just get all "fucking jacked" tonight but can't think of anything to do after getting all "fucking jacked" may I suggest BASSNECTAR at The Marquee Theater? I am going to go but prob won't even get all "fucking jacked" before but I can't imagine NOT getting all "fucking jacked" while I am there. Tickets are $22 and I think they are still available at the door tonight.

Bassnectar Coming to Marquee... Win Tix

Sometimes you just want to dance. You don't want to worry about peoples feelings/emotions. You are going to have that opportunity when Bassnectar comes to town on Friday February 12th playing at The Marquee Theater in Tempe (deets HERE). Up until this morning I had never heard of them but the got a hold of us and asked if we would like give away a pair of tickets. Now whenever we give anything away we have a very strict screening process that involves my computer, headphones and 47 gallons of cool whip. And I am happy to say that Bassnectar passed with flying colors. So we are in fact giving away a pair of tickets to the first person that emails us or tweets us.

If you are skeptical about getting involved in such things please check out the embedded music clips below and if you like that then you can download a free "mixtape" by simply clicking HERE. See now aren't you glad you stopped by today?

Photos: Phoenix & Sea Wolf @ The Marquee Theater 2/1/2010

Phoenix @ The Marquee Theater 2-1-2010 (45 of 66)

Well it's not very often that you get to see a Grammy Award winner the day after they win but that is exactly what happened last night when Phoenix played The Marquee Theater in Tempe. I have been to a lot of shows at The Marquee in my time but I have never seen it so ridiculously packed as I did last night. Every square inch of that place was taken up with people all the way out the back doors.

Supporting band Sea Wolf looked genuinely giddy as hell to be playing in front of a crowd that big, and they didn't disappoint. I am not saying they haven't played to that many people before but it was quit an increase from Modified Arts a few month ago. They played mostly new songs off their new album White Water, White Bloom as well as crowd favorite "The Violet Hour" from the New Moon Soundtrack.

Once Phoenix came on stage the place was the most frenzied I had seen since Rage Against the Machine in 1999. It was all pretty surreal since only a couple people I knew had ANY idea who these guys were six months ago. But they put on a great freaking show and if you missed it I feel pretty bad for you. Even though I don't think that many of you did... you know, since there were so many people... ughh leave me alone it's early.

Video: Mastodon "Divinations" on Fallon

Like I have said before and will always say Mastodon transcend genres. They do this so they can melt the faces of more people with their glorious powers they received from satan in exchange for their souls...Happy Halloween and see you at The Marquee on Nov 17th
