So when I got the email about this, I thought "Hey, I think I already posted a video for this song! Am I crazy?!?!" Turns out I just posted the mp3 embedded inside a youtube video thus only making me partially crazy, but not for anything that has to do with this song and or video. I am crazy because of the voices in my head telling me how fancy a lady I am. BUT... whomever made this video IS crazy because of this video. It's a crazy video.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra "Swim and Sleep (Like A Shark)"

I never really thought about it before but being able to swim AND sleep at the same time would come in really handy in a few very specific situations. For example, you are a high school swimmer and practice is before school, and you had just stayed up late studying... or maybe your small plane crashed into Lake Huron and you are 17 miles from shore. Being able to nap without your swim coach catching on and making it to shore well rested would be pretty great I think.

I figure people have NOT been watching videos on Presidents Day going back to the first Presidents Day in 2003. So who am I to break with such a fine tradition? Unknown Mortal Orchestra @ Crescent Ballroom 10/4/2011

I wrote this whole giant review about how wonderful the Crescent Ballroom is and how it is everything we have ALL been dreaming about for years, then I swiped two fingers instead of three on my macbook and lost the whole thing... So just take my word for it that everything was great and look at these mutha effing pictures!

Unknown Mortal Orchestra "Little Blu House"

This sweet vid came out a couple of days ago but It's hard to keep up with EVERYTHING new when you are trying to get your hot air ballon business of the ground… literally AND figuratively. You would think that flying silently over the desert would give you lot's of free time to read music blogs but my customers, surprisingly, keep getting all weird about me "not paying enough attention to power lines and mountains. Let's leave the nagging on the ground, where it belongs.

Oh and on a side note, I am really looking forward to Unknown Mortal Orchestra's show at The Crescent Ballroom October 4th. Tickets HERE

Unknown Mortal Orchestra "Ffunny Ffrends"

I am really liking Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and I am really looking forward to seeing them at the Crescent Ballroom Oct 4th with What Laura Says and St. Ranger (Tix). One of my favorite new bands playing with two of my favorite local bands, that also happen to be two of my favorite bands regardless of geography.

I hope someone gets the guys in Unknown Mortal Orchestra some oranges or at least a bottle of vitamin C because I would be super bummed if they had to cancel because of scurvy. I am joking of course, they just look like they have scurvy, it's probably just a lot of time practicing in that basement & drinking way to much Mt. Dew, which I am pretty sure has vitamin C in it, so they should be fine either way.

Here Comes Crescent Ballroom!

It has been a long time coming and something that I have been dreaming and wishing for since we started this site in 2008.  A truly bad ass music venue downtown! Sure Modified had it charms, but good sound, not smelling like shit and AC were not those charms, and the Trunk Space... let's just not talk about the Trunk Space.

But news is hitting that the best and most wonderful Stateside Presents are finally fulfilling their destiny and opening up a venue of their very own. It's called Crescent Ballroom and even though we have seen the name pop up as the site for upcoming shows like St Vincent, tUne-YaRdS, M83 & We Were Promised Jetpacks we didn't really know any details. Now we know more details and those details are good. It's going to be size wise in between The Rhythm Room and Marquee Theatre, have food and drinks and be open everyday at 4pm to hang out, or something to that effect.

It looks like the first show is Unknown Mortal Orchestra with What Laura Says opening on Oct 4th. I am going to bet that it sells out, so I would get your tickets now, or whenever they become available because their site is not working yet I guess.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra are sure getting a ton of blog buzz or "bluzz" (I invented that word) and for good reason. They have a silly name and they are really good. What more do you need? NOTHING! Some might even say you only need one of those things to be successful these days. LMFAO... am I right?
